SPRINGFIELD CENTER - Vonee Marie Bell, 68, of Koenig Road, passed away peacefully Friday morning, June 5, 2009, in Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown. She was born on March 26, 1941, in Clinton, Iowa, daughter of John B. and Eleanor Pieper Whalen. Growing up in a military family, she was educated in Poitier, France, where she was a graduate of military high school. On June 12, 1962, she was united in marriage with John W. Bell in Saint Louis, Mo. They made their home in Kingston until 2001 when they moved to Springfield Center. For more than 20 years, Mrs. Bell worked as an accredited technician of medical records at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston. The last 10 years there, she served as medical records supervisor retiring in 2001. Vonee had a strong belief in God and was a member of Saint John's Episcopal Church, Richfield Springs. In her leisure time, she enjoyed baking and reading. To all who knew her they will remember a loving, caring and hopeful person who was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Surviving besides John, her loving husband of nearly 47 years, are two sons, J. Clifford Bell of Kingston, Colin Bell and his wife, Sybil, of Lake Katrine; a daughter, Maria, and her husband, William Krum, of Los Lunas, N.M.; one sister, Nancy Becker, of Bartlett, Tenn.; six grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; and cousins. Besides her parents, Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by two brothers, John Bernard Whalen Jr., and Larry Dann. Burial Office from the Book of Common Prayer with Holy Eucharist will be celebrated on Saturday July 11th, at 11:00 am in Saint Johns Episcopal Church, Richfield Springs. The Reverend John Dixon Bartle, Rector will officiate. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Saint John's Episcopal Church, Richfield Springs.Funeral arrangements are with the J.
