West Winfield - Walter Andela went to be with his Lord Thursday April 16, 2015 with family surrounding him. He was born November 17, 1936 in Clifton N.J. to Nick and Jesse (Hamersma) Andela. When he was 16 he came to Goshen NY to work on the farm for his brother Louis. He met and married Dorothy Hoekstra on November 25, 1955 and they had a long and loving marriage. Walt worked at many jobs, but he loved living here on the farm where he did cash cropping and raised beef with his son Nick and grandson Dan. He is survived by his wife Dorothy and his children Nicholas(Arlene), Andrew(Linda), Kenneth(Diane), Beverly(Steve), Joanne, John(Paula) and Mike(Heidi), 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, a brother Richard(Judy), a brother-in-law Woody and many nieces and nephews all of whom were dearly loved. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings Andrew, Peter, Louis, Agnes, Trina, Gertrude and Jane. Calling hours will be in the Richfield Springs Bible Church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm.
