ILION-Walter Merrill DeLosh age 76 passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon November 6, 2021 in Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. He had the comfort and support of his loving family at his side. Walter was born on September 12, 1945 in Pulaski, son of Harrison and Geraldine Alice DeLosh. He was raised in Altmar and graduated from Altmar Parish High School with the class of 1963. In March of 1964 he enlisted in the US Army and had served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on January 4, 1967. For many years, Mr. DeLosh worked as a truck driver for Larabee Metals in Camden. At one time he served as Justice of the Peace in Annsville. On June 29, 2002 he was united in marriage to the former Phyllis Ann Reynolds in Grace Episcopal Church in Mohawk. To all who knew him, found him to be a caring, kind and good natured man who made friends easily. He was happiest when he was with his cherished grandchildren and step-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all.
Surviving are his devoted wife of nineteen years, Phyllis, one son William DeLosh and his wife Amy of Mooresville, NC, a daughter, Lana Lucero of Utica, his brother Donny Hilton of Syracuse, a sister, Donna LeMoyne of FL, seven grandchildren, seven step-children, Allen Krowicki and his wife Cathy, Mark Krowicki and his wife Barbara, Michael Krowicki and his wife Sarah, David Krowicki and his wife Joy, Sheila Heiland, Sondra and Tami Sterling-Hysack and many step-grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Walter M. DeLosh Jr. on August 26, 2017.
Funeral services were private and at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to The Veterans Association, The Rescue Mission, or any charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Inc. Herkimer.
