RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Walter J. Guzik age 73 of McKoons Road, passed way unexpectedly on Wednesday afternoon August 6, 2008 in Saint Elizabeths MedicalCenter, Utica.He had the comfort and support of his loving family at his side. Walter was born on October 15, 1934 in Columbia, son of the late Joseph and Frances Szeliga Guzik. A lifelong area resident he was a graduate ofRichfield Springs High School.On May 4, 1957 he was united in marriage with the former Lorraine Jouben in Saint Josephs Church, Richfield Springs. For more than forty years Mr. Guzik was the owner-operator of the Bee-Line Dairy Farm in Richfield Springs until his retirement in 2000. He had a strong belief in God and was a member ofSaint Josephs Church, Richfield Springs.Walter was a member of Herkimer Elks Lodge # 1439, a member and leader of 4-H and a former member of the Norstar Bank Board of Directors. To all who knew him they will always remember his warm smile and outgoing manner. A friend to many he will be greatly missed. Surviving are his loving wife of fifty-one years Lorraine, a son Joseph S. Guzik and his wife Toni of Richfield Springs, two daughters and their husbands, Sharon and Donald Lust of North Stonington, CT, Patricia and William Zaleski of West Winfield, five grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Guzik, a brother Stanley Guzik and a sister Helen Jouben. At Mr. Guziks request the Funeral Mass and interment will be private and at the convenience of his family. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home; 40 West James Street, RichfieldSprings on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 pm.In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Cedarville Volunteer Fire Department would be appreciated.Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
