HERKIMER-Waltraud Schneberger age 86 passed away peacefully on Thursday morning March 22, 2018 in Saint Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica. She had the love and support of her devoted family at her side.
Waltraud was born on August 8, 1931, in Glasgow, East Germany, daughter of the late Richard and Ellie Schorr Pohl. She was raised and educated in Germany. On November 4, 1950, she was united in marriage to Heinrich Schneberger in Stadthagen, Germany. With her family she came to this country in 1956 to start a new life. It was on November 18, 1996 that her husband Heinrich sadly died. She worked as a waitress at the Rainbow Diner, and was also a seamstress at the P & K Dress Company and Bartell Manufacturing in Little Falls. She retired in 2013. Mrs. Schneberger had a strong faith in God and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Herkimer. To those who knew her she was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always there for her family, she was the strength that held them together in good times or bad and will be sadly missed.
Surviving her, are two daughters, Hannelore Hinman of Orlando, FL, Kornelia Herringshaw and her husband Roy Baldini of Sauquoit, two brothers, six sisters including Brigitte Doak of Philadelphia, PA, three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Several nieces, nephews and cousins all residing in Germany also three friends who were like daughters to Waltraud and she was so grateful for all they had done for her, Audrey Kelly, Kacey Aurience and Charlene Pavlot Besides her parents and husband Heinrich she preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Bruce Hinman and Charles Herringshaw.
At the familys request funeral services will be held at a later time. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the American Cancer Society 100 Lomond Court, Utica, NY 13502. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., Herkimer.
