UTICA Warren J. Rocque, age 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 14, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Utica after a brief illness. He was born on April 2, 1933, in Port Henry a son of the late Romuald and Helen Carswell Rocque. His education was in Newcomb where he graduated high school. On June 5, 1957 he enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served until July 1, 1961 when he was honorably discharged. On July 30, 1960 he was united in marriage to the former Veronica Callister in Utica. For over thirty years he was employed with General Electric Company in Utica, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed watching all sports and was an avid Mets fan. He and his wife spent their retirement years traveling. They especially enjoyed their trip to Australia and New Zealand. Warren will be remembered as a quiet man of few words. His devotion to his family spoke highly to the gentleman he was. He will be sadly missed. Surviving are his devoted wife of 58 years, Veronica, of Utica, one son Dr. Warren Rocque and his wife Pamela of Raleigh, NC, one daughter Bonnie Rocqueand her wife Rosemary Rees of Utica, two granddaughters, Marquette and Jacquelyn of Raleigh, NC. a special niece Diana Geno of Ilion along with several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his two brothers Paul and Eugene Rocque. A memorial service will be held on Thursday Dec. 20th at 11:00 am in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The family will receive relatives and friends in the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00 am. Interment will take place next spring in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer at a time to be announced. Memorial donation may be made to Steven Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St, Utica, NY 13502.
