Obituary

HERKIMER-Wava Jean Hamilton age 73 of 104 North Washington Street, formerly of Camden passed away peacefully on Sunday morning at Folts Home. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing. She was born on December 12, 1942 in New Hartford, daughter of the late John Richard and Gwendolyn (Williams) Stephenson. A lifelong area resident she was raised in Sauquoit and was a graduate of Sauquoit High School. Mrs. Hamilton had a strong faith in God and led a devoted Christian life. She was a former member of the Cassville Baptist Church. In her leisure time she enjoyed playing the piano. Mrs. Hamilton also had a talent for writing and had her own column in the West Winfield Star newspaper. To those who knew her, she was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandchild. She will be sadly missed. Surviving are her husband Kenneth A. Hamilton of Camden, two sons and their wives, Kenneth and Rhonda Hamilton of Herkimer, David and Lisa Hamilton of Hadley, MA, one daughter Amy Hoffman and her husband Mark of Potsville, PA, two sisters and their husbands, Treva and Lewis Peavey of Fairfield, Nedra and Jack Confer of Apple Valley, MN, nine grandchildren, Patrick Hamilton, Ryan Hamilton and his companion Jessica Dawley, Nicole Hoffman, Elizabeth Hoffman, Kaitlan Hoffman, Daniel Hamilton, Keegan Hamilton, Liam Hamilton, Beatrice Hamilton, and a great granddaughter, Analiese Hamilton, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours for Mrs. Hamilton will be on Friday from 4:00 until 6:00 pm In Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 6:00 pm in the funeral home with the Reverend David Tosi and the Reverend Dwayne Durand officiating. Interment in Carr Cemetery, town of Marcy will take place at later time convenient to the family.
