RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Wayne D. Seamon age 53 of Wing Hill Road entered into eternal rest on Wednesday afternoon September 29, 2004 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown. He had the support and comfort of his loving family at his side.
He was born on July 29, 1951 in New Berlin, son of Shirley Crist Seamon and the late Fred Seamon. A lifelong area resident he was educated in Schuyler Lake School and was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. On October 20, 1973 he married the former Jean Saltys in Saint Josephs Church, Richfield Springs. For the past thirty-four years Mr. Seamon has worked as a heavy equipment operator for Lancaster Development Incorporated in Richmondville.
He was a member of the Schuyler Lake Volunteer Fire Department. His leisure time was spent hunting, fishing and took pride in raising Herefords on the Hobby Farm that his father started.
Wayne will always be remembered as a caring person, he continued that in death through the gift of sight. Someone, somewhere will actually see life through his beautiful eyes with this gift. He is a true hero. Wayne will be greatly missed by many especially his family.
Surviving are his wife of thirty years Jean, one son, Tyler Wayne Seamon of Richfield Springs, two daughters, Renee Seamon of Mohawk, Heather Seamon of Richfield Springs, three sisters, Sherry and George Blauvelt of Port Richey, FL, Dale and Ken Dyn of Richfield Springs, Marsha and Jim Lewis of Helena, MT, one grandson, Nathan Frederic Schultz of Mohawk, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will take place on Sunday at 1:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. The Reverend Thomas Pullyblank, Pastor of the Schuyler Lake United Methodist Church will officiate. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 5:00 until 9:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made with donations to the Richfield Springs Emergency Rescue Squad or the Schuyler Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Members of the Schuyler Lake Volunteer Fire Department are asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday evening at 8:00 pm for services.
