RICHFIELD SPRINGS - William R. Dufloe age 56 of Walnut Street passed away on Sunday morning January 29, 2006 in Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown. He had the comfort of his loving family at his side.
He was born on October 23, 1949 in Herkimer, son of Robert and Helen Emrich Dufloe. A lifelong Richfield Springs resident he graduated from Richfield Springs High School with the class of 1967. He furthered his education graduating from Morrisville Community College in 1969.
Upon completing college he enlisted in the US Army and served in Vietnam from 1970 until 1971. He was honorably discharged with rank of Sergeant.
On March 3, 1973 he married the former Linda Woodard in Cedarville. Mr. Dufloe was employed as a sales represenitive with Bellvue Lumber Builders in Richmondville, Webb and Sons Lumber Company in Sherburne and currently with Curtis Lumber Company in Sherburne.
Bill had a strong belief in God and was a member of the Church of Christ Uniting, Richfield Springs. An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of the Watauga Club in the Adirondack Mountains an exclusive recreational club for hunting and fishing. He proudly inherited this membership from his grandfather. He was a friend to many and will never be forgotten.
Surviving are his loving wife of thirty-two years Linda, a daughter Trisha Dufloe of Oswego and his parents Robert and Helen Dufloe of Richfield Springs.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday at 11:00 in the Church of Christ Uniting, Richfield Springs. The Reverend William Harkins, Pastor will officiate. Interment will be later this spring in Lakeview Cemetery. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs on Tuesday (today) from 6:00 until 9:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made with donations to the Church of Christ Uniting, Friends of Bassett Richfield Springs Health Center, Louis Busch Hager Oncology Center or the Richfield Springs Emergency Rescue Squad. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
