EAST HERKIMER – William Joseph Mlinar, age 65, of Zoller Avenue, passed away peacefully on Monday Evening February 22, 2021.
William was born October 6, 1955 in Little Falls a son to the late William and Jean Hext Mlinar, he was raised and educated in Little Falls. For over 38 years he worked for Union Fork and Hoe later Union Tools in Frankfort, he then attended Herkimer County Community College obtaining an Associates Degree in Business Management. He later then worked for Bank of American as an Account Represenative until his retirement.
On August 27, 1983 he married the former Michele Smith in Christ Episcopal Church, a blessed union of 37 years. William was a member of the East Herkimer Fish & Game Club, he enjoyed the outdoors he loved to go fishing and hunting. He also loved horse racing and at times he, wife Michele, and family would enjoy day escapes to Saratoga and watch the horses. His favorite moments were vacationing at historic sites with his family and spending summer nights at his brother Peter's drink shack.
He loved having his family close to him and enjoyed being with his friends.
Surviving him are his wife Michele, a son Neil Mlinar of East Herkimer, a daughter Olivia Mlinar of east Herkimer, a brother Peter Mlinar and his wife Lisa of Mohawk, two sisters Susie Mlinar of Mohawk and Jennifer Mulready and her husband Sean of Boston, Massachusetts, In-laws Jack Smith of Herkimer, Mike and Missy Smith of Little Falls, Kathy and Rich Ervin of Florida- Herkimer, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved feline friend Kiki, his canine companion Ellie, and his best friend Kim Harris.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his in-laws John and Marlene Smith.
A funeral service for William will take place later this spring.
Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc. 115 Court Street, Herkimer.
