Obituary

MOHAWK-Wilson H. Mason Willy age 64 of Green Streetpassed away on Friday afternoon, January 8, 2010 in Little Falls Hospital. He was born on August 28, 1945 in Ilion, son of the late Woodrow T. and Betty Travis Mason. A lifelong resident of Mohawk he was educated in Mohawk Schools. On September 30, 1967 he was united in marriage with the former Marilyn Neale in Ilion. Willy was employed by the H. M. Quackenbush Co. in Herkimer as an electroplater and metal finisher. He retired in 2003 after more than thirty-five years of loyal and dedicated service. In his leisure time he enjoyed bowling and over the years was active in many area bowling leagues. He also liked to pitch horseshoes in the summer and ride his snow mobile in the winter. Mr. Mason was a devoted family man. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his many friends and family especially his five cherished grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Surviving are his loving wife of forty-two years Marilyn, two sons, Jeffrey and his wife Trena of Herkimer, Justin Mason and his companion Elisha Ray of Mohawk, two brothers, Larry Mason and his wife Nancy of Frankfort, Woodrow Mason Jr. of Herkimer, four sisters, and their husbands, Marion and Wade Dingman of Mohawk, Dorothy and Don Ingerham of Herkimer, Florence Corky and George Bormann of Herkimer, Betty Ann and Vaughn Ingraham of Mexico, five grandchildren, Nicole Reinhardt, Cassandra Reinhardt, Melody Ray, Emilee Ray and Lillian Mason, his in-laws, Carlyn and Dave Earl of FL, Richard and Denise Neale of Ilion, Cliff and Brenda Neale of Middleville, Ronald and Kim Neale of DE, Keith and Beth Neale of Ilion, Janie and Earl Polley of Ilion, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister June Moynihan and two daughters, Billi Jo Mason who died in infancy and Michelle Reinhardt who passed away in 2000. A funeral service will held on Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Reverend Robert Wollaber, Pastor of Morning Star Ministries, Ilion and Frankfort will officiate. Interment will be later this spring in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday three hours prior to the funeral service (4:00 until 7:00 pm). Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to MOVAC. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
